AIGA, The Professional Association for Design, had humble beginnings. Everyone brought their own chair to the first meeting. To coincide with AIGA Colorado’s 25th anniversary and to celebrate AIGA National’s 100th anniversary, the art exhibit, Chaircuterie, was developed. The exhibit featured 100 uniquely designed chairs from national and local artists.

  • Graphic design professionals, creatives, art buyers, and art appreciators.

  • Use the event title’s play on words — “chair” (the artist’s subject matter) and “charcuterie” (a personal approach to fulfill one’s appetite, often with meat and cheese) — to drive the brand and campaign.

  • The event was heavily attended, and the sale of the artwork created a slush fund for the AIGA Colorado chapter.
